The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) will be hosting a Validation Workshop today at the Guyana International Conference Centre at Liliendaal, following its conclusion of strategic assessments involving stakeholders countrywide.
The ERC said in a release that at this workshop, selected representatives from the previous consultations will be meeting to discuss the recommendations and suggestions put forward by stakeholders. Consultation meetings were held in Regions Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven and Ten, where approximately 450 stakeholders from over 290 organisations and 225 communities participated, the ERC said.
The emphasis of the strategic assessments was to gather feedback from stakeholders concerning their views about the impact of the entity “on creating a more tolerant, respectful and cohesive society” in addressing race issues.
