Two senior officers in the joint services and two permanent secretaries were recently reassigned after these matters were discussed and approved by Cabinet, Head of the Presidential Secretariat (HPS), Dr. Roger Luncheon disclosed at a post-Cabinet press briefing yesterday.
The Government Informa-tion Agency (GINA) reported that the current permanent secretary (PS) of the Legal Affairs Ministry, Colin Croal has been reassigned as the PS of the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs, while the Amerindian Affairs PS, Nigel Dharamlall has been reassigned to the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development.
Additionally, in the Local Government system, the Regional Executive Officer (REO) of Region Nine, Donald Gajraj has been shifted to Region Four.
Dr. Luncheon also stated that “appointments will be confirmed soon in Regions Two, Five and possibly Three.”
Meanwhile in the security services, Lieutenant Colonel Mc Andrew has been assigned to the Guyana Prison Service in the capacity of deputy director in the thrust for officers to achieve ‘statecraft’ experience and skills, GINA stated.
And Lieutenant Colonel J. Persaud has been assigned to the Finance Ministry’s Accountant General Depart-ment and he is likely to be appointed as the deputy.
