Jamaican artiste Gyptian has won the ‘texting’ battle in the public relations frenzy to select the artiste who would headline Wildfire Promotions highly anticipated ‘Temperature’ concert.
But the promoters also announced on Thursday that reggae sensation, Tarrus Riley is also heading this way for the July 3 concert at the National Park. Wildfire Entertainment’s CEO Jonathan Beepat said Riley was very close behind in the number of texts received.
“We are very pleased with the response from all of our supporters in the texting promotion. In the end, it was Gyptian who had the most texts and is, technically, the winner,” he told reporters at a press conference. He said the Temperature has now reached boiling point.
Wildfire said in a press release that musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by Stereosonics, Slingerz and Trendsetter. The company is also partnering with BTV2, Giftland Officemax, and Digicel.
Warren Williams, Wildfire events manager, said of the upcoming show, “we have always ensured that our events are well secured and this one is no different. We have employed the police and a private security firm to handle the security aspect and we will also be providing secure parking for patrons.”
The local artistes scheduled to perform at the show include Spidaman out of the Wildfire camp, and Mystic and Ilaman out of Brutal Tracks Recording Studio. Also being introduced to Guyana are two new Guyanese artists Eva blazin and Dublin. Dublin is a new addition to the Wildfire camp and holds promise, the team said in its release.
Early bird tickets for the show are already sold out. Regular tickets are now $2,500 and are available at Beepat’s, Giftland Office Max, Nanda’s Boutique and Whitecastle Fish Shop.
Wildfire is advising persons to buy tickets in advance as the gate price will be $3,000. There will be a VIP area for the event and these tickets will be limited and available through promotional activities, the group added.
