A 56-year-old man was found dead at his workplace at Guysons Engineering, West Ruimveldt early yesterday morning and police are investigating the circumstances.
The body of Lochan Singh Ramdin was discovered by a resident, who notified the authorities. Ramdin’s brother, Karamchand Ramdin called ‘Kushie’ told Stabroek News that Lochan had worked with the company for the past 25 years and lived on the premises.
He was found on the floor of the bedroom and blood was oozing out of his mouth, ears and nose, he said.
Karamchand said he was told that his brother had a few drinks on Father’s Day and the following day, Monday, complained of feeling unwell. Yesterday morning, he was found dead. An autopsy is scheduled for today. A business next door to Guysons was robbed on Monday night but Guysons was not robbed, Karamchand said. He said police told him they are not ruling out anything and the results of the autopsy will determine the next step.
