A block maker who was reportedly entrusted with a million dollars to buy his friend a car yesterday pleaded not guilty to fraudulent conversion when he made an appearance in court yesterday.
Kentroy Cadogan of 85 Guyhoc Park in his defence told Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson that he does not have any idea about the charge and denied knowing the Virtual Complainant.
According to Cadogan, he was taken into police custody for possession of marijuana but he insisted that it was planted on him by the police.
However Raymond Madhoo, the VC, said that he and the defendant were friends for seven years and when he told Cadogan that he needed a car Cadogan said he knew someone who was selling. “So I trust he with my money and never see he back,” the VC said.
Cadogan was subsequently remanded and is to return to Court 10 on July 2.
