Two Brazilian miners were shot on Thursday morning after telling a man that they had no job to give him.
At about 11am, police said in a press statement yesterday, a man entered a mining camp at Oko Backdam, Cuyuni River to enquire about a job. It is alleged “that upon being told that no job was available the man pulled out a firearm and discharged rounds hitting both men (the Brazilian miners) to their right foot and escaped.”
Silvano Da Silva, 41, and Jose Wilson Costa, 43, have since been admitted to the Bartica Hospital.
