The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) is hosting training sessions for its senior and chief postmasters, postmasters, postal and telegraph clerks to boost the quality of its service.
According to a press release the sessions started on Tuesday and are being held at the GPOC’s training school. About 60 persons are participating in the course which covers a wide range of topics including mail, parcel and counter operations, management functions, behaviour and attitude, customer relations and laws, rules and regulations governing the postal industry. Other areas of administration have been included in the course which is facilitated by former GPOC postmaster general Stanton Halley.
Earlier in the month senior management officers were engaged in training hosted by La Red Business Organisation. La Red is a faith-based non-denominational organisation which offers training in areas such as character building and enhancement, targeted character, vision, courage and leadership. These sessions were sponsored by the Office of the Prime Minister with the aim of improving internal relations at the GPOC.
