Dear Editor,
Queenstown was once one of the best kept neighbourhoods of Georgetown, but this is no longer the case. Take the part of Peter Rose Street between Laluni and Crown Streets. There is now a security company with what seems like hundreds of workers and scores of vehicles.
Worse still, right beside it is a used car lot. Neither of these businesses belongs in a residential area and should be relocated. Together, they have been responsible for causing congestion, raising the noise level and generally degrading the surroundings. I ask you, Editor, to pass through that stretch of road on any day and you may be shocked at what you will see. I don’t know how any official permission could have been granted for these operations to be located in a peaceful residential area, and I ask that you bring this to the attention of the City Council or any other responsible body for their reaction.
Yours faithfully,
