The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has applauded Guyanese pace bowler Brandon Bess on his selection to the West Indies team for the third Test match currently being played in Barbados.
Acting President of the GCB, Bissoondial Singh in an email applauded the player for his selection to the team on behalf of the Board and the Guyanese cricketing public. He went on to state that Bess’ selection to the highest level in international cricket is an accomplishment worthy of congratulations.
“Guyana is proud of the talent it has made available to West Indies cricket over the years, and the GCB has great confidence that you would maintain tradition and, by your performance at Kensington, keep the Golden Arrowhead fluttering proudly on the flagpole,” the statement read.
It continued, “It is, for you, recognition of talent which you obviously possess and it is a fantastic opportunity to justify the selection and cement a more permanent place in the side by your outstanding performances.”
The statement also wishes Bess great success for a long and productive career at the international level.
