(Jamaica Gleaner) – Jamaican dancehall entertainer Adijah Palmer otherwise called Vybz Kartel turned himself in to the police yesterday morning.
It is understood that Vybz Kartel went to the Greater Portmore Police station with his lawyer Christian Taveres-Finson after he was being sought by the police for questioning.
Vybz Kartel has been included on a list of people of major interest which was released by the Police High Command.
Kartel, who is head of the Portmore Empire dancehall group had been named among several other persons of interests in the police division.
Since Monday police have detained 102 persons during curfews imposed on Newlands and Naggo Head in Portmore, St Catherine. Cops said persons detained in curfews have been sent to the Mobile Reserve in Kingston for further questioning. Some were charged with various offences, including shooting and possession of marijuana.
