Lesa-gayle Wee Tom of Jamaica has joined the line-up of beauties competing for the Miss Jamzone International title this year and already she being touted as a hot favourite.
“I am the best candidate to represent my country because I am a product of my nation and I am capable of illustrating all the beauties of the Jamaican culture,” Lesa-gayle said in a brief introduction. She is a veteran at just 21 years with a solid string of titles behind her name. Lesa-gayle has also built a solid reputation as an accomplished reality TV star on the island.
According to a press release from the pageant organizers, Lesa-gayle claimed instant fame between the periods of 2008-2009 by appearing as a cast member on BET’s College Hill, a reality show which follows the lives of students at historical colleges. She has also secured several titles in pageantry including: first runner-up – Miss Hollywood Teen USA, second runner-up Miss Jamaica Florida, second runner-up Miss Miami Tropic, queen Miss Florida Caribbean, queen Miss Jamaica Caribbean World and she also participated in Miss Caribbean World 2010 pageant.
Lesa-gayle is currently enrolled as a national honour-roll student on a Barita Scholarship at Florida Atlantic University where she is pursuing a major in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in tourism/hospitality management. She also speaks fluent Spanish.
Her five-year plan is to gain her degree, host her own television show and chair her own charity organization.
She also aspires to pursue fashion design and launch a clothing line. Lesa-gayle enjoys dancing, shopping, volunteering at different charity events and spending time with her loved ones.
Confidently describing herself as a “formidable opponent”, Lesa-gayle is positive that she will be the recipient of this year’s crown and prizes since she possesses the beauty, brains, grace and all the relevant traits of a true queen, the release added.
