Dear Editor,
For the public and football’s sake it would be interesting to know about Guyana’s representation at the FIFA Congress in South Africa, which preceded the ongoing World Cup competition.
This comes against the backdrop of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) President, Colin Klass’ attendance as a Caribbean Football Union (CFU) delegate.
As a consequence who were Guyana’s three representatives?
It’s a known fact that Noel Adonis and Aubrey ‘’Shanghai’’ Major, in their capacities as General Secretary and Assistant Secretary, Organising, respectively attended.
So who was the third person?
From all indications it was a female.
Was it the Assistant Secretary, Administration, Vanessa Dickerson, who is also president of the Women’s Football Association?
Or was it the Accountant or Office Manager; both of whom are also females?
It seems as if a thorough investigation is needed and I do hope that the GFF General Council representatives demand from the General Secretary, the name of the individual and her connection with football that entitled her presence in South Africa.
Additionally, the relevant documentation would outline in what capacity the individual went and also if it was a collective decision of the federation’s executive in granting this dubious approval.
Should the investigation prove that there was a collusion to deprive an executive of having meaningful representation, then the relevant disciplinary action against the offending parties would be the order of the day.
Yours truly,
Orin Davis
