The Charles Roza Nursing School is being expanded to accommodate more students, Minister within the Ministry of Health Dr Bheri Ramsaran said during a meeting on Friday with students and tutors.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release students complained that the number of computer systems available are not sufficient for the student population as there are over 220 students who rely on them for research.
Ramsaran said the school should increase students’ access to the machines to curb the current problems.
GINA said the ministry has also been upgrading teaching capacity and has transformed the library into a resource centre that boasts numerous medical text books, three new internet-ready computer systems and other technical equipment. Teaching aids were also sent to the school to assist with demonstration during classes. Also, the health ministry recently provided a refrigerator, stove, tables, chairs and other necessities for the ladies’ dormitory, which accommodates 43 students from hinterland communities.
