The national schools basketball championship -2010 was a success according to the coordinator, and once again the Kwakwani Secondary School was victorious. The victories achieved this year by Kwakwani in three of the four categories they contested are an indication that Ms Anne Gordon (aka Annie G) is the most successful coach to take teams to the championship.

With  Annie G coaching Kwakwani we were able to play in every finals with 2010 showing resounding success.

Is there another female coach in any sport discipline to achieve this level of success? Three out of four categories in one championship?

The achievement of Annie G in this year’s championship and her record over the years is enough to make her eligible to be selected as coach for the next youth basketball team to represent Guyana.

And the performance of the Kwakwani team should spur the basketball association in Linden and the national federation to pay visits to Kwakwani to see our facilities and work out programmes to have the youths continue the sport beyond school.

Well done Kwakwani secondary, you have done it again, this time with resounding success. All Kwakwani is proud of you.
