Congo’s Minister of the Environment was scheduled to arrive in Guyana yesterday to meet government officials on the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS).
Henri D’Jombo, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Forest Economy and the Environment in Congo will meet with Minister of Agriculture, Robert Persaud and other top government officials to strengthen cooperation in forest management and other areas of mutual concern, said a statement from the Government Information Agency (GINA). It said that the LCDS will be studied as a model for the Republic of the Congo as part of its forest management plan and to ensure sustainable harvesting of its forest resources.
