PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Former West Indies left-arm spinner Dave Mohammed continued his impressive comeback in national colours on Saturday night, when he fired Daren Ganga’s XI to a 49-run victory over Amit Jaggernauth’s XI in a Caribbean T20 warm-up clash.
Set 139 runs for victory, Jaggernauth’s team found Mohammed and pacer Navin Stewart too difficult to handle and folded for 89 in 17.2 overs. Mohammed, who played the last of his five Tests and seven One-Day International two years ago, grabbed two wickets for just four runs while Stewart finished their three for 13.
West Indies A opener Justin Guillen slammed 42 off 40 balls including six fours to lead Jaggernauth’s XI.
Earlier, West Indies opener Adrian Barath top scored with 38 off 31 balls with one four and three sixes while his Windies teammate all-rounder Dwayne Bravo also continued his good form with 32 off 28 balls.
Off-spinner Sunil Narine captured four for 15 while Jaggernauth supported with two for 12.
T&T leave today for Barbados where they will open their campaign against Canada in the Caribbean T20 series at Kensington Oval on Thursday.
