Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee has said the criteria for the issuance of diplomatic passports are a state secret.
Rohee made the disclosure in a written response to AFC MP Raphael Trotman, who asked in the National Assembly what were the criteria used by government for the issuing of diplomatic passports.
Trotman explained that he asked the question because of a complaint he received from some government officials, who indicated that persons not entitled to diplomatic passports were receiving them.
Trotman had also sought to ask for a list of the persons who are holders of diplomatic passports but the question was disallowed by the Speaker as it was not in line with the Standing Orders.
