Guyana’s Under-17 football team came from behind to snatch a draw in their opening match of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) World Cup qualifying group stage in Dominica on Tuesday.
Playing against the Netherlands Antilles the Guyana team conceded two early Goals before recovering to earn a 2-2 draw.
Liandro Martis scored in the 11th minute and two minutes later Quinston Bartholomeus doubled the lead.
But, in the 27th minute Pernell Schultz reduced the deficit before Netherland Antilles Shuremy Felomina scored an own goal in the 47th minute.
The Guyana team which departed for Dominica two days before their opening engagement only arrived in Dominica a mere 18 hours prior to the match.
The Guyana team was put through several drills yesterday in preparation for today’s clash against Dominica from 5pm.
