The Guyana Junior Jaguars under-17 team takes on Aruba today in their final Group C match of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) World Cup qualifying competition in Dominica.
The local boys are one step closer to topping the group after they destroyed the Netherland Antilles team 5 – 0 on Thursday.
C. Bemjamin opened the scoring for Guyana in the fifth minute while Pernell Schultz continued his good form scoring in the 25th. Deshane Garnett’s 31st minute goal gave the home boys a comfortable lead at half time.
When play resumed, Sherwin Lewis scored in the 75th minute before pressure from the Guyana strikers resulted in an own goal by the Ntherland Antilles. Guyana drew their opening match against Dominica 2-2.
