PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – The sorry campaigns of the Leeward Islands and Canada came to equally dismal ends here yesterday, when their final game of the Caribbean Twenty20 Trophy was rained out at the Queen’s Park Oval.
The game was scheduled to start at 4 pm but persistent rain, which started earlier in the afternoon, left the outfield waterlogged and officials called off the game just after 5 pm.
It was a disappointing end for both teams who both finished with a mere point in Zone A after losing their opening games in the first leg in Barbados last week.
Leewards lost by nine wickets to Jamaica and by five wickets to Trinidad and Tobago while Canada suffered crushing nine-wicket defeats to both sides.
