Desmond Caesar was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court for allegedly being found with a quantity of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
He denied that on July 29, at Mabaruma, North West district, he had 454 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and he pleaded not guilty to it after Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton read the charge to him.
The prosecution had requested that Caesar be remanded to prison and that the matter be transferred to the Christiansburg Magistrate’s Court.
The magistrate then refused bail for Caesar and ordered that he make another court appearance at the Christiansburg Magistrate’s Court for August 4.
