Jungle house: This has been the state of this house located at the corner of Garnett and De Abreu streets, Newtown, Kitty for the past ten years. An upset resident is calling for its immediate demolition. He said it is being occupied by drug addicts and robbers. The upset man said that several days ago he and his family returned home from overseas and were attacked by a robber who fled into the structure with a purse filled with valuables. He said that he contacted the police who told him to call them when the thief is spotted. The man said that he visited City Hall for help to remove the structure and was told the municipality had no money. To make matters worse he had to pay an electrical company $10, 000 to fix a street light in front of his home to brighten the dark area. “I want that house to be removed. They got businesses around here and you have to look at a house like that!” he exclaimed.
