The young motorcyclist who died on Wednes-day night after colliding with a car had dreams of furthering his education, his family related yesterday.
“He was so overjoyed that he was accepted at TI (Georgetown Technical Institute). He keep saying when he finish TI is straight to UG,” Marvin Williams’ father said yesterday. This newspaper caught up with Williams’ family at the East La Penitence Police Station.
Williams, 21, of 2307 Soufriere St, North Ruimveldt died in an accident on Mandela Avenue, between Hadfield and D’Urban streets, after he collided with a car. Precise details of what occurred remain sketchy.
Family members yesterday said that police told them that they have an eyewitness but did not share any other details about the accident. According to Williams’ sister, Lashauna Williams, her brother was heading home at the time of the accident.
According to Lashauna it was a friend who alerted her of her brother’s accident. A nurse at the hospital called her friend who in turn called her. Williams reportedly suffered massive head injuries.
The second of three children, Williams worked at Hand-in-Hand insurance company. He was described as loving and caring by his family and friends who were present at the station yesterday.
