A man accused of attempting to murder a woman at Leonora Pasture was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on August 4 at Leonora Pasture, West Coast Demerara, Chaitram Guyandeen unlawfully and maliciously wounded Parbattie Guyandeen with intent to murder her.
The accused was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of attempting to commit murder when it was read to him by the magistrate.
The prosecution’s submission was that Guyandeen be refused bail.
The submission was upheld and the accused was subsequently remanded to prison. His matter was transferred to the Leonora Magistrate’s Court for August 16 for report and fixture.
