A man accused of breaking into a store room and stealing a quantity of shoes was on Thursday remanded to prison.
Shawn Rampersaud, who was arraigned before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, allegedly broke and entered the store room of Lolita Bamol and stole a quantity of shoes, valued $50,000. The offence was allegedly committed on August 10.
Rampersaud was not required to plead to the indictable charge of break and enter and larceny when it was read to him by the magistrate.
The virtual complainant, meanwhile, was not present at court.
The prosecution requested that the accused be remanded to prison and it was granted. Rampersaud was ordered to return to court on September, 13.
