Dear Editor,
I am of the opinion that some contributors to the letter columns of SN, do not conduct proper research, prior to the submission of their correspondence for publication.

I wish to refer to SN, August 11, ‘Schedule for radio station.’

Firstly, the Guyana Times has a daily TV/Radio guide. The Daily Chronicle, for whatever reason, hardly ever publishes a radio schedule.

The other newspapers, to the best of my knowledge, do not carry radio schedules.

Secondly, NCN Radio, provides listeners with a schedule of its programmes for the broadcast day at 0610 hours and at 1250 hours; if perchance there is a change to the schedule, NCN radio informs its listeners about the changes, and the reasons for doing so.

Research and the gathering of the correct information before the submission of any letter for publication is a must. It will save the contributor immense embarrassment when it is published, and readers, realize how flawed it is.
