Club Captain Patrick Prashad said a large field is expected to take place in the annual tournament which is a major event on the local golf calendar.

He said the players are eager to compete following recent inclement weather which left the course in an unplayable state.

Prizes will be presented to the top four finishers, Low Net, Nearest to the Flag at hole 8 and the Lowest Gross.
Players have until Friday afternoon at 16:00 hours to register.
Last year’s winner Joaan Deo is expected to defend her title.
Also listed to compete are Courts Country Manager Lester Alvis, William Walker, Boloram Deo, Mike Guyadin, Ian Gouveia, Robert Hanoman, Colin Ming, Mel Sankies, Brian Hackett, Christine Sukhram, Esau Shamshudin, Carlos Adams, Imran Khan, Mike Mangal, Clifford Reis, Gavin Todd, the Cummings brothers  Roy, Bruce and Andre,  Albert Semple, Mark Lashley, Muntaz Haniff, Mohanlall Dinanauth and  Dr. Ram Singh.

The tournament was originally planned for this weekend in Paramaribo but organizers were forced to reschedule due to recent rain in the neighbouring republic.

The Lusignan Golf Club is expected to send a strong team to the tournament which will be held one month before the annual Guyana Open in November.
