BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Nevis turned in a dominant performance, hammering Antigua and Barbuda by 122 runs to open the St Kitts Under-13 tournament on a high yesterday.
Ras Powell stroked a top score of 79 to propel Nevis to 242 for six off their allotted 25 overs, after winning the toss and batting first at the Elquemedo Willett Park in Nevis.
Colin Archibald (30) and Saeed Williams (29) chipped in with the bat while Kenrick Scott (2-32) and Brian Baggat (2-53) finished with two wickets apiece.
In reply, Antigua could only muster 120 for nine off 25 overs as Saeed Williams (3-23) and Akeem Harvey (2-14) and Philo Wallace (2-24) destroyed the innings.
At the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex in Molineux, Dominica used a strong bowling effort to carve out an uncomplicated nine-wicket win over Anguilla.
They limited Anguilla to 81 for nine off their 25 overs with Rakesh Gokarran top-scoring with 29 and Kyle Cabey grabbing three for seven.
The Dominicans then cruised to 83 for one off 17.3 overs with Kershaski Jno Lewis stroking an unbeaten 39 and Brian Joseph getting 34 not out.
In the final game at Warner Park, Bermuda turned back the home side’s threat, inflicting them with a four-wicket defeat.
Batting first, St Kitts made 134 all out off 22 overs with Akimbah Francis getting 36 and Jahoni Bean Wilson snaring four for 29.
