A 30-year-old motorist was last evening in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he collided with an electrical pole along the East Coast Demerara (ECD) Public Road early yesterday following a blowout.
Reports are that Nohar Seenjan of DeAbreau Street, Newtown, Kitty was driving along the ECD Public Road heading to the city around 4 am yesterday morning when the incident occurred.
A relative noted that the man and his wife, Claire Melville, had moments earlier dropped off another relative at Plaisance, ECD following the Ne Yo show which was held at the National Stadium.
The couple was returning home when their vehicle suffered a tyre blowout in the vicinity of Conversation Tree following which the vehicle uprooted an electrical pole along the median on the roadway.
The man sustained a gaping wound to the head, an eyewitness related and he was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state while his wife was treated for minor injuries.
