As the supervisor at an Anna Catherina gas station was making his way to his car after work on Tuesday night two armed men attacked and robbed him of more than half a million in cash.
Tazlim Nazadeen, police said in a press statement yesterday, was robbed of $611,000 at about 10 pm. Nazadeen, the supervisor at Sam’s Service Station on the West Demerara, was proceeding from his office to a motor vehicle when he was attacked by the two armed men.
Investigations, police said, revealed that the two perpetrators held him up, took away the cash and escaped.
Meanwhile, when Stabroek News contacted the service station yesterday afternoon it declined to comment.
However, this newspaper has been reliably informed that the bandits hit Nazadeen several times about the body. The man sustained abrasions but was not seriously injured.
“These men,” a person, who requested anonymity, explained, “had to have been watching him [Nazadeen]…they had to know his movements and someone had to tip them off that he would carry this cash with him.”
