Dear Editor,
From all reports, the Jamzone week-long extravaganza of music and fashion was a highly successful project, enthusiastically received by the Guyanese public. No amount of praise for the event’s organizers Hits and Jams Promotions is enough. To hear about American R&B star Ne Yo sing the praises of the Guyanese people during the feature concert on his first visit to Guyana, was a rare pleasure to behold for any local at home or abroad.
Hits and Jams took its game to another level this time around, and the event has to be the number one calendar activity in the country at present. To stage two concerts within one week featuring overseas artists of high calibre, is no easy feat to pull off. Then to round off the week’s action with a beach party says a lot about the energy and ambition of the Hits and Jams organization. Surely Jamzone must continue to maintain its high standards.
The managers must continue to strive to have at least one big-name artiste every year. They must start planning for next year. Rihanna is due a Caribbean tour, so let’s have another mega splash in 2011.
Yours faithfully,
Jack Palmer
