Dear Editor,
The United Force wishes to congratulate President Jagdeo on his interaction with the people of Buxton over the last few weeks. We have seen the President hosting the Buxton 170th Anniversary Committee and of course his very exuberant welcome and reception when he visited the community recently.
These interactions and in particular the Buxton visit have generated meat for the paper tigers. The WPA intellectuals are among these persons.
Listening to them one sees that they are still trapped in the politics of race. Buxton does have a great history reflective of its role of nurturing a nation. Marcellus Fielden Singh, the late second leader of the United Force, was also a Buxtonian, and also his brother Bishop Benedict Singh.
The United Force welcomes the leadership of the President in this engagement. We offer our congratulations to him and also to his government.
Mr Hinds and company would have us continue on a path of suspicion and division. The United Force sees engagement and dialogue as a better option. We hold and know the forces of unity in Buxton and our country far out-power the negativity of the WPA. The President should keep up his Buxton engagement, keep up his outreaches, keep up being grounded with our people.
Yours faithfully,
Manzoor Nadir
