City teams Alpha United and Sunburst Camptown secured wins over the weekend as the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League competition continued with five matches.
Not to be left behind were Linden teams Bakewell Topp XX and Milerock who also secured wins while Berbice team Rosignol United, scored an upset win over the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) in their encounter.
At the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Sunburst Camptown needled Buxton United 1-0 while Alpha United struck two goals past Victoria Kings.
At the Mackenzie Sports Complex Ground, Bakewell Top XX trounced Liquid Gold 3-1 while Milerock edged Seawall FC 2-1.
At the Blairmont Community Centre Ground, Rosginol United secured the biggest win of the round an upset 3-1 victory over the GDF.
Rosignol’s victory took them to 20 points and second place in the points standing behind Alpha United who have 27 points.
Sunburst Camptown are third with 19 points while Milerock have 18 points.
The GDF, 16 points; Buxton, 12 and Victoria Kings and Bakewell Top XX, with 11 points each, follow.
The competition continues this Sunday with another five matches.
At the MSC Ground, Milerock will play Rosignol United while Bakewell Top XX will oppose Alpha United.
At the Uitvlugt Community Development Centre ground, Seawall FC will oppose Sunburst Camptown.
At the Enmore Ground, Buxton United will battle GDF while Liquid Gold will challenge Victoria Kings at Bartica.
