An autopsy has revealed that Dexter Gaspar was strangled, stabbed and one of his major blood vessels damaged.
Gaspar, 28, of 2566 Kaikan Street, North Ruimveldt, was discovered in his bedroom gagged and with his feet bound at around 5pm on Wednesday. Shortly after the discovery, police arrested two persons, one of whom is related to Gaspar. They remained in custody yesterday.
A post-mortem examination conducted on the man’s body yesterday by Government Pathologist Nehaul Singh found that Gaspar died from shock and hemorrhaging caused by stab wounds to the neck. Gaspar also sustained a damaged blood vessel compounded by asphyxiation.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether anything was discovered missing from the Kaikan Street home. This newspaper had been reliably informed that there were signs of forced entry at the back door of Gaspar’s house. Crime Chief Seelall Persaud had also said that the Kaikan Street property is under dispute but police were yet to determine whether this was in anyway related to the man’s murder.
