The Flying Cycle Club of Berbice ran off a 45 mile back-to-school cycle road race which was held September 5.
The event started at Main and Alexander Streets, New Amsterdam, proceeded to the Number 43 village on the Corentyne and ended in front of Spready’s Supermarket.
The race was sponsored by a few businessmen who are also supporters of the club.
Neil Reece won the event in a time of one hour and 48 minutes after opening up a three-mile gap on the pack.
He was followed by Wasim Hasnoo, Rohan Persuad, Juman Crawford, Keith Griffith and Sybores Fernandes.
The race was organized by coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club Randolph Roberts. Prizes were also donated by Home Design and Engineering Associates, Imtiaz Hussein, Tony Amerally, Stephen Investigation and Security Consulting Services, Neil Design Academy and Kumar Dorasammy.
The club would also like to thank the Guyana Police Force for its support.
