For the years 2007 and 2008, I am owed tax refunds by the Guyana Revenue Authority.
I made several enquiries to the GRA and was advised by one of their officers to write to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, requesting repayment.
I did so in January 2010, but to date I have not had even the basic courtesy of an acknowledgement.
I wish that the GRA’s relentless attitude in pursuing taxes owed could be replicated in discharging its responsibility to effect tax refunds.
