Ryan McKinnon, Michael Blake, Ian Rogers and Ray Beharry, turned in outstanding performances at last weekend’s Pistol shooting competition organized by the smallbore section of the Guyana National Rifle Association (Guyana NRA).
Blake won the seniors 9mm pistol shoot over 15 and 20 metres on Saturday at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU) ranges at Eve Leary.
Joseph Chin was second and Rogers, third.
In the junior category shot over the seven and 10-yard ranges, Beharry got the better of Craig Morrison and Trevor Gomes.
The following day, Mc Kinnon proved that he was on top of his game when he won another practical pistol competition at the Timehri pistol and rifle ranges amidst a combination of heavy rain and scorching sunshine.
He recorded 180.72 points to emerge victorious in the three-stage shoot.
Dale Hing was a distant second with 153.38 pints while Rogers returned to take third place with 137.33 points.
Meanwhile, members of the Guyana NRA donated blood to the Guyana Red Cross Society as part of their annual humanitarian exercise yesterday at the Red Cross headquarters at Eve Leary.
The group included Guyana NRA secretary, Ryan Sampson, smallbore captain, Joseph Chin, as well as Murtland Smith, David Bose, Lawrence Layne, Ray Beharry and Karen Beharry.
