A security guard is now a patient in the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after he was shot on Tuesday night by a man who attempted to force himself into a popular Robb Street bar.
A release from the police said the guard, Marlon Shepherd, who was shot around 23:25 hrs on Tuesday, sustained injuries to his left arm and knee.
According to the police, the suspect, who is known to law men, and several others were attempting to force their way into the premises when they were confronted by the guard. A scuffle ensued and the suspect discharged ten rounds at the guard before fleeing in a car with his accomplices.
Shepherd was rushed to the hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.
Police visited the scene and recovered ten 9mm casings.
