The Private Sector Commission (PSC) said it welcomes the decision by acting Chief Justice Ian Chang to liquidate Clico (Guyana).
According to a press release dated September 14, the PSC said the pronouncement seeks to ease the suffering of policyholders since it will enable the government to fulfil its pledge to compensate those affected.
The PSC said it hoped the liquidation process would move ahead speedily and that there will be no more hindrances with the reimbursement of funds to the affected policyholders.
President Bharrat Jagdeo will meet Clico policyholders today at the National Cultural Centre to discuss the way forward.
