Another intense battle looms as local golfers gear up for Saturday’s Farm Supplies/Doosan-sponsored Medal Play Golf tournament at the Lusignan Course.
Officials of the Lusignan Golf Club expect another large turnout of players as they seek to win the coveted title at stake.
Club Captain Patrick Prashad said the course is in top shape and the weather is perfect so players can look forward to an exciting day of golf.
All eyes will be on William Walker who has displayed tremendous form over the past three weeks winning two tournaments in the process.
Boloran Deo, Mike Mangal, Munaff Arjune, Imran Khan, Patrick Prashad, Ian Gouveia, Mike Gayadin, Colin Ming, Mohanlall Dinanauth , Jerome Khan, Ronald Bulkan and Brian Hackett are all in good nick and can cart off the title.
Other strong challengers include Muntaz Haniff, Clifford Reis, Albert Russell, Mark Lashley, Carlos Adams, Albert Semple , Andre Cummings, Ram Singh, Robert Hanoman, Chatterpaul Deo, Maurice Solomon, Mel Sankies and Christine Sukhram who has returned to competition after a brief layoff.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three players with the best net scores while there will be a prize for ‘nearest to the pin at hole number 8’.
Registration will close at 16:00 hrs on Friday.
Tee off is at 12:30 hrs but players will assemble at 12:15 hrs for a briefing.
Representatives of Farm Supplies/Doosan have been invited to do the presentation of prizes to the outstanding players.
