PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Sep 20, CMC – Out-of-favour West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons kept up his superb form with a stroke-filled century when national trials for next month’s regional limited overs championship continued on Saturday.
The dashing right-hander hammered 133 at the National Cricket Centre to propel Daren Ganga’s XI to 246 for two in reply to Samuel Badree XI’s 163 all out off 41 overs.
He struck 11 fours and four sixes off 124 balls as he followed up his 86 in the first trial game on Friday with another entertaining knock.
Former Young West Indies batsman Jason Mohammed was among the runs with 65 from 74 balls.
Earlier, West Indies wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin scored 42 and captain Badree got 56, to lead their side.
Fast bowler Richard Kelly claimed three for 14 while Sunil Narine (2-29) and Imran Khan (2-31) picked up two wickets apiece.
