The Ministry of Amerindian Affairs has postponed the Heritage Cultural Extra-vaganza until Thursday and has instead scheduled a wild meat buffet for Wednesday afternoon.
In a press release the ministry said the programme which was scheduled for Thursday, September 23 to Tuesday, September 28 will now be held from September 30 until October 5 at the Amerindian Village, National Exhibition Complex, Sophia. The event will coincide with GuyExpo 2010.
The extravaganza is part of this year’s Amerindian Heritage Month celebrations. The six-day event will feature cultural presentations from Guyana’s indigenous peoples and will offer for sale Amerindian beverages and craft.
The ministry is also inviting the public to its fundraising dinner set for Wednesday at the Georgetown Club. The wild meat buffet dinner starts at 5 pm.
Tickets cost $4,500 each and are available at the ministry’s Thomas and Quamina streets office.
