First there was Friday Night Fights. Now there will be Friday Night Table Tennis.
The Malteenoes Sports Club will stage a Power 16 table tennis tournament on Friday at its Thomas Lands venue.
The first 16 players that enter will participate in the Open tournament which has a first of “$10,000 or $20,000 depending on the sponsor,” a release from the club stated.
“Winners will have their pictures taken and placed on a winners’ wall in the club. Players who win on three consecutive Fridays will be eligible for a special prize”, the release added.
Entrance fee per players is $1000 and spectators will be asked to pay a $200 donation to the club to offset expenses, the release stated.
The weekly tournament, which will be held every Friday night, is open to all table tennis players.
