KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – There were no major surprises in a 14-man squad named by Jamaica’s selectors on Tuesday to contest next month’s WICB Regional one-day championships here.
Only two changes were made to the squad that contested the Caribbean Twenty20 Cup two months ago, with Brenton Parchment overlooked and the experienced Wavell Hinds unavailable.
The squad, which will be led by Chris Gayle, sees the return of dashing 20-year-old left-hander Horace Miller and Brendan Nash, who missed the CT20 in July.
Marlon Samuels, who also played in the CT20, will be playing in his first regional one-day tournament since his one-year international ban ended earlier this year.
The tournament will run from October 14-24 and matches will be staged at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium, Sabina Park in Kingston and the Chedwin Park.
SQUAD – Chris Gayle (captain), Tamar Lambert, Carlton Baugh, Odean Brown, Horace Miller, Xavier Marshall, Andrew Richardson, Marlon Samuels, Nikita Miller, David Bernard, Danza Hyatt, Brendan Nash, Andre Russell, Krishmar Santokie.
