Dear Editor,
I recently read an article that mentioned the commendable work done by Guyana’s Honorary Consul to Trinidad and Tobago, Ernie Ross, and his company, Ernie Ross Advertising Limited, in bringing the UNC’s message to the masses and ultimately helping the People’s Partnership to power. It seems like Mr Ross has the Midas touch when it comes to selling a message and convincing voters.
The Guyana 2011 election promises to be an especially contentious one. I am wondering if any person, entity, corporation, political organization or politically affiliated body has ever retained Mr Ross and/or his company and any of its subsidiaries to perform advertising or any similar media related work in Guyana, and in particular with respect to any prior elections in Guyana? I am also wondering if Mr Ross and/or Ernie Ross Advertising Limited has been retained directly or indirectly by any political organization or any politically-linked organization to provide any media, advertising or like services with respect to the upcoming 2011 election in Guyana? Given its dynamic performance in the Trinidad elections, the involvement of Mr Ross and/or Ernie Ross Advertis-ing Limited could change the dynamic of the race depending on which organization is able to retain his/its services.
Yours faithfully,
M Maxwell
