Police are seeking a 24-year-old man for questioning about a shooting which occurred at a popular Robb Street bar three Tuesdays ago, resulting in a security guard being hospitalized.
Abdul Imran Khan last known to be living at Lot 11 Austin Street, Campbellville is wanted in relation to discharging a loaded firearm, a police wanted bulletin issued yesterday said. Khan is fair in complexion, slim and 5 feet six inches tall.
Anyone with information that may lead to his arrest is asked to contact the police. All information will be treated with strict confidence, the bulletin added.
While the bulletin did not provide information about the incident Khan is being linked to, a senior police officer told Stabroek News that it was for the September 16 bar shooting.
Police had said in a press release that security guard Marlon Shepherd was shot in the left arm and knee around 23:25 hours by a man who attempted to force his way into the bar.
According to the police, the suspect and several others were attempting to force their way into the premises when they were confronted by the guard.
A scuffle ensued and the suspect discharged ten rounds at the guard before fleeing in a car with his accomplices.
The injured Shepherd was rushed to the hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition and was admitted. Ten 9mm casings were found at the scene.
Last March, Khan was linked to a shooting on Main Street which resulted in three persons sustaining injuries.
According to reports, gunfire erupted when two men, who were involved in an argument in the New Courtyard Restaurant and Bar drew their weapons at the corner of Main and Hope streets and fired at each other hitting other persons in the process.
Hours after a wanted bulletin was issued for him, Khan turned himself in to police but was later released after being questioned.
