CHAGUANAS, Trinidad, CMC – Ryan Hurley was voted Cricketer-of-the-Year at the prize-giving ceremony of the Central Zone held recently at Presentation College.
The former Barbados all-rounder played for eventual Division 1 champions Couva Sports, and they also copped the Club-of-the-Year title.
Hurley scored 435 runs at an average of 72.50, and a highest score of 309 against Milton Sports Club.
With the ball, he captured 46 wickets, with a best off eight for 19.
Hurley had played for Preysal for a number of years before making the switch across the highway to Couva Sports.
The all-rounder attracted big crowds to Couva Sports matches with his fierce hitting and more than useful off-spin bowling.
Hurley is set to play for the West Indies Masters later this month in the CLOBI Cup World Masters Tournament.
