Keith Andrews, 23, was yesterday remanded on four counts of armed robbery, in which he is alleged to have taken over $1M in cash and goods.
Andrews, of 34 Queen Street Cummingsberg, was arraigned on the charges when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magis-trates’ Court.
It was alleged that on September 28 at Georgetown, being armed with a gun, Andrews robbed Michael Cain of a Blackberry mobile phone valued $50,000 and $20,000 cash. On the said day, Andrews allegedly robbed Nikhil Ramkarran of a digital camera, a battery grip, camera lens and other items valued $940,000.
On September 25, at Georgetown, Andrews also allegedly robbed Radika Foo of a quantity of jewellery totalling $95,000.
On the same day also, Andrews is also accused of robbing Gary Foo of a cell phone and gold band valued $150,000
Andrews pleaded not guilty to the four charges when they were read to him by the acting chief magistrate.
Prosecutor Stephen Telford objected to the accused being granted his pre-trial liberty, on the grounds that of the seriousness and prevalence of the offence.
Andrews was later remanded to prison and the case was transferred to Court Five for October 21.
