(BBC NewsBeat) – Kanye West halted his giveaway of free tracks to fans yesterday, because a song from his unreleased album has been leaked.
In August, West had said he would give away new music at the end of each week in an event he called ‘Good Fridays’.
West has already given away a remix of his latest single “Power” and a new track featuring Beyonce called “See Me Now”.
However, writing on Twitter, Kanye said: “It’s messed up that one hacker can mess everything up for everyone.”
The star added: “I love to take a year to finish my songs and deliver them to you guys in their most completed form.”
It’s thought his untitled fifth record will be released later this year.
The song which found its way onto the internet on Wednesday is called “Lost In The World” and features samples from Gil Scott-Heron and Bon Iver.
West said: “It would have seemed like since I give free music every week even the lowest form of human being would respect that enough not to leak unfinished songs from my real album.”
