KARACHI, (Reuters) – The International Cricket Council will hold appeal hearings for suspended Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif in Qatar on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, a source close to the trio told Reuters.
“The venue for the appeal hearings is Qatar but the lawyers for the players want the hearing to be held earlier,” the source said.
The three have been suspended until newspaper allegations have been investigated that they fixed parts of games during the tour of England which finished last month.
They have denied wrongdoing and have been supported by Pakistan cricket chiefs.
An ICC spokesman could not confirm the date or venue for the hearings, saying “nothing was official yet”.
